MOLSON COORS TO DONATE 50,000 CANS OF WATER TO BAHAMAS RESIDENTS IN NEED

In Partnership with JB Hunt and Tropical Shipping, Molson Coors Provides Critical Support to People Impacted by Hurricane Dorian

NASSAU, BAHAMAS (September 11, 2019) – Molson Coors International is donating 50,000 cans of water to residents and first responders impacted by Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. In partnership with JB Hunt and Tropical Shipping the water cans will be sent to Rivera Beach, Florida before being shuttled to the Bahamas with the help of Commonwealth Brewery and distributed locally by Bahamas Red Cross.

“Distributing safe drinking water to those affected by Hurricane Dorian is critical to recovery efforts in the Bahamas and as such, Molson Coors is proud to provide this essential resource,” said Sergey Yeskov, president and chief executive officer of Molson Coors International. “Through the donation of the water cans, we aim to provide comfort and relief to Bahamian islands.”

The water cans will be shipped from the MillerCoors brewery in Elkton, Virginia and are expected to arrive early next week at a Tropical Shipping warehouse in Riviera Beach, Florida. From there, the cans will be shuttled to the Bahamas and distributed locally by Commonwealth Brewery Ltd. In total, MillerCoors and Molson Coors International will donate 50,000 cans of water. Each case is a 12 pack filled with 12 ounces of water in each can.

MillerCoors is the U.S. business unit of Molson Coors, and both have an ongoing commitment to water can donations to communities in crisis. MillerCoors launched its water program in 2017 in partnership with Broomfield, Colorado-based Ball Corporation, which together have committed to providing more than 2 million cans to the Red Cross to help communities affected by disasters over the next two years. The water is canned at the MillerCoors brewery in Trenton, Ohio, and stored in its Shenandoah, Va., brewery. Graphic Packaging International donated the 12-pack cartons in which the cans are packaged.

MillerCoors has already stepped up in response to flooding and natural disasters in 2019, donating 50,000 cans of water to residents affected by tornados in Ohio, and 200,000 cans for flooding victims throughout the United States. Additionally, in 2018, MillerCoors donated 50,000 cans of water to residents in Austin, Texas and 25,000 to residents in southern Iowa impacted by boil orders and 200,000 cans of water to people affected by Hurricane Florence and 100,000 to those affected by Hurricane Michael. MillerCoors made similar donations of more than 550,000 cans of water to Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean from Hurricane Harvey, Irma, and Maria.
