2008 Priorities and Objectives

Priorities

While we'll continue our work on all dimensions of Corporate Responsibility, we have identified four priority areas for 2008.

We have identified three strategic priority areas:

  • Environment, particularly energy conservation and water stewardship
  • People/community
  • Alcohol responsibility

An additional priority area relates to our internal processes:

  • Strengthen systems for corporate responsibility performance tracking, reporting and accountability

Our corporate-wide objectives for 2008 will build upon and reinforce the ongoing activities in the divisions and build our corporate-wide capabilities.

Strategic Objectives

  1. Reaffirm our corporate-wide and public commitment to energy conservation and water stewardship
    • Energy: Establish greenhouse gas reduction targets, enhance reporting through the Carbon Disclosure Project, and seek third-party verification
    • Water: Articulate a corporate position including corporate-wide measures, reduction targets, partnerships for third-party validation, and watershed protection projects as appropriate to the region
  2. Reinforce our commitment to employee wellness and safety
    • Wellness: Better align our employee safety, health and wellness programs
    • Incident prevention: Continual improvement in lost time and incident severity; strengthen our safety/wellness culture as measured by the Employee Participation Index
  3. Further promote and focus employee volunteerism and charitable giving
    • Incentives and focus: Employ best practices by division to encourage employee volunteerism and giving focused to corporate responsibility priorities
  4. Formalize our alcohol policy compliance assessment and review
    • Sharing of best practices: Better leverage our global and leadership to align with Molson Coors values in all our key markets

Process and Procedural Improvements

  1. Periodic review of corporate responsibility performance by the senior management and reporting to the Molson Coors Board of Directors (BoD)
  2. Develop common employment principles that reflect our ongoing commitment to human rights and sound employment practices
  3. Implement Supplier Guiding Principles and Supplier Sustainability recognition program
  4. Enhance division and corporate-wide dialogues with external groups as part of a stakeholder engagement program

Reporting

On this website, we will report on our progress against these priorities and objectives. We invite your comments and suggestions for our continued progress, as we raise the bar on living our values.
