Burton & Uttoxeter MP, Jacob Collier, visits Burton brewery as we announce £80million investment to the site
On Wednesday, (28th August), we welcomed new MP for Burton & Uttoxeter, Jacob Collier, to our Burton brewery. During the visit we shared our plans to invest around £80m in Burton over the next five years.
A programme of significant investment and infrastructure upgrades includes replacing and relocating our conditioning tanks to our new world class conditioning block, as well as installing an additional filtration stream and upgrading assets in our bottling line to make our brewing process more efficient.
These upgrades will play a crucial role in supporting our commitment to reach carbon net zero in its direct (scopes 1 and 2) emissions in the UK by 2035.
Neil Haywood, our Burton Brewery Operations Director said: “This plan is an important investment in the future of our Burton brewery, which is home to so many of the country’s favourite brands. It means we can meet growing demand for the beers and ciders our consumers love while making strong progress against our sustainability targets.
“We’re really proud to operate our biggest brewery right here in Burton and we’ve invested significantly in the site over the past decade. This further funding will build on the progress we’ve made and underscores our long-term commitment to the town.”
Jacob Collier, MP for Burton and Uttoxeter, added: “Molson Coors is setting a fantastic example in Burton, showing a real willingness to invest in its people, industry, local community and the environment.
“Burton is the home of British brewing, and this latest investment will help to ensure that it remains so, long into the future. For me, it’s a source of pride that such iconic brands are made right here on our doorstep.”
