Molson Coors’ rich history and heritage in Burton upon Trent can be traced back over 250 years to 1774 when William Worthington began brewing there, in the UK’s heart of brewing.

Fun Facts

• Burton Brewery is the largest brewery in our Western Europe business and produces over a billion pints per year. Here we can implement a circular philosophy on a large scale; we source our malted barley locally and after the brewing process our spent yeast goes to the local Marmite factory and spent grains go to local farms.
• The Burtonisation process used in brewing today and made popular from the 19th century, comes from the town of Burton upon Trent where the chemical composition of the local water brought out the flavour of the hops and led to the success of the brewery.
